Press release: Jen and Drew Hall Expand their Businesses with Third SF Location IN UNION square

The Beer Hall Opens Second Location, Now Featuring a Restaurant with San Francisco Comfort Food and Classic Pub Fare

SAN FRANCISCO, September 18, 2024 — Jen and Drew Hall proudly announce the opening of its third establishment The Beer Hall at 34 Mason St. This new location expands on the success of the original The Beer Hall at 1 Polk St., now introducing a full-service, family-friendly restaurant alongside its renowned beer and wine offerings.

Located at the crossroads of Union Square and the Tenderloin, just below the Financial District, The Beer Hall at 34 Mason St. combines the best of both worlds – an extensive selection of craft beers, low intervention wines, and a menu featuring delicious San Francisco comfort food and classic pub fare. “San Francisco is and always will be a dynamic place and we’re excited to continue our commitment to the City by providing a welcoming new location to locals and tourists alike,” said Drew Hall, Co-Owner of The Beer Hall. The establishment’s refreshed motto, “Good times, good people, and even better beer—now serving food,” encapsulates the spirit of this new venture.

The Beer Hall’s first foray into the restaurant business is led by a veteran team of hospitality industry professionals. At the helm of the kitchen is Chef Glen Schwartz, trained by the International Culinary Institute of California. Chef Schwartz brings a wealth of experience from prestigious restaurants, such as the Michelin-starred Campton Place Restaurant, The Douglas Room, and most recently, Maybeck’s in the Marina District.

The organic-based menu highlights:

  • Rösti & Roe: Potato cakes, crème fraîche, malt vinegar, trout roe, peas, mint
  • Chicharrones & Dip: Fried pork skins, salsa verde crema
  • Chicken Sandwich: Sesame brioche bun, zesty spread, butter lettuce, tomato, pickle

Beer enthusiasts will appreciate the rotating taps of curated beers and wide-ranging styles. The Beer Hall exclusively serves independent craft producers of beer and wine.

“Our new location is the ideal venue for a range of social to corporate events and conferences,” said Jen Hall, Co-Owner. “With surrounding hotels, shops, and a 15-minute walk from The Moscone Center, we’re at a central location that makes The Beer Hall a convenient space with the added amenities for a full-service event.”

The Beer Hall at 34 Mason is 6,000 square feet and features a large 3-sided bar with 8 screens above for sports games and viewing parties. A separate, private event room at the lower level is also available to host more intimate gatherings. The full-service kitchen offers an extended menu for buffet, cocktail, and sit-down party formats, making it an ideal spot for various events.
